I state that mathematics is the most beautiful thing in the universe
Why? Simply because it governs everything in it. Consider: The three sciences of Physics, Chemistry and Biology can be said to govern the entire universe. A feature of this set of sciences is that they are concentric and cumulative, with biology being a subset of chemistry, and chemistry being a subset of physics. Physics deals with the interactions of matter and energy within space and time, giving rise to universal laws. From the laws of interaction of electrons and atoms, the science of chemistry arises, dealing with the reactions of atoms and molecules with energy or with each other. From this then comes the science of biology, which may be seen as the 'ultimate' exponent of science. Biology involves the purposeful and intentional interaction of macromolecules, giving rise to the phenomenon of life. From biology comes all social sciences and humanities, as they all still deal with the interaction of macromolecules (humans), albeit highly developed ones. These interactions are all governed by the 'unseen hand' of behaviour which stems from biology, the desire for a. reproduction and b. energy Therefore, physics may be seen as the most fundamental of all sciences. However, physics itself relies on certain key assumptions, which have been formulated by mathematics. For example, from the concept of arithmetic comes the law of conservation of mass-energy when applied to matter; from the concept of deriviative and integral arises the entire field of kinematics when applied to matter, space and time. Therefore, with mathematics alone, you can construct a universe! Is that not something beautiful and wonderful? Somebody said that at 1:25 PM - x - - x -
