Listening to music from Riverdance now (and very nice music too).

The one thing that I don't like with my instrument is the fact that it can't be used to play parts requiring a. moderate volume b. fast switching of notes c. melodies. It can, however, be used to play a. loud parts b. very loud parts c.very very loud parts d. fanfares and other 'stirring' stuff. When played properly, the trombone is one of the best sounding instruments in the band (because of the slide). Unfortunately, when you can't play it well, it sounds like... well... there's no word for it ( because of the slide) (ever listened to J.J Johnson?)
