Imagine a glass, half-filled with some liquid

There is a hole in the bottom of the glass, which liquid slowly leaks out through to dribble on the cold surface of what what you would like call your soul.

Then, taking a recording device of some sort, film the entire process, until the glass is totally empty.

Now here's the clever part: play the recording backwards. You will see liquid rising from the cold surface and magically filling the cup until it is, get this, half full.

Now call the cup space, call the liquid the universe, and call the cold surface God, and you have the true story of Genesis.
