The Three Laws of Robotics
First Law: A robot must not harm a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to hard Second Law: A robot must obey orders issued by human beings, insofar as such obedience does not come into conflict with the First Law Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence insofar as this does not come into conflict with the First or Second Laws and the supposed Zeroth Law Zeroth Law: A robot must not harm humanity, or through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm, even if such would come into conflict with the First, Second or Third Laws Imagine if you could apply them to a human being. Replace 'robot' with 'human', and 'human beings' in the Second Law to 'authority'.
