Freedom.
What an incredibly abused word. Freedom is not about anything to do with free speech, free beer, free healthcare or any of that western stuff. It is thinking that you are. Simply put - if you think you are free, then you are free. Consider: The concept of freedom only has meaning to those who can comprehend it and desire it as a result. However, the actual desire of those who strive for it is not the abstraction of freedom itself, but representatives of it. "Freedom" is nothing more than a loose group of these abstractions, loosely bound to a central concept of acting without hindrance. Thus, if you define freedom as being represented by certain liberties and privileges, then you will think you are free if you have access to them. A man who thinks that freedom is total anarchy will only be free when there IS total anarchy. Likewise, a person who associates freedom with disrespect of authority will only feel 'free' if he disrespects authority. This means that you can define freedom as you wish, and supply that which is noted in the definition, and you then have people thinking that they are free. And they ARE free. Something America doesn't understand (of course, this doesn't apply to freedom only) Somebody said that at 7:35 PM - x - - x -
