We're always waiting, aren't we?

Just sitting there and stoning, waiting for the day something happens to us. Opportunities arrive like late buses and sit there begging to be boarded, but the lead weight at the back of our head holds us back in perpetuity. Fears of failure, humiliation, hurt all conspire to block our path, and so we wait. The bus departs as unexpectedly as it arrived, but we do not chase it. Still we wait, for better chances, better prospects, better probabilities, better excuses to stall. They don't exist, but we expect that anyway. We have perfected the skill of differentiating between the desire for a thing from the taking of necessary action to grasp it. We have perfected the art of delusional satisfaction.

So we sit on that cold stone bench for eternity, waiting for the bus that goes where we're heading i.e. the one that never comes.

GET UP AND GRAB IT BY THE BALLS, MICHAEL!

I'm still waiting.

Somebody said that at 6:19 PM
